Quilting & Craft Retreat

This retreat was created out of a love for quilting and the joy of sharing the craft with others. Teri Sellers, the owner, started her quilting journey in Wisconsin in 2009. While there she met several quilters who enjoyed getting together to sew. Soon she found herself at retreats for several days or a week at a time. When Teri moved back to Iowa, she knew she wanted to continue the retreating experience with all her quilt friends. When looking for places that could accommodate large groups, she came across a building in Readlyn, IA. Set in the quiet downtown, it would be the perfect setting for her vision. Teri got to work planning a retreat to include as many friends as possible and all the elements of past quilting trips that she loved the most. After many months, Bobbins and Boards Quilting and Craft Retreat was born and opened its doors to the public in October 2024 for others to share the love of quilting and crafting.

Quilting & Crafting Space

1300 sq. ft. of possibilities! This area includes not just working areas, but areas to lounge and spend time with your group.

  • 14 (6′) individual work stations are set up and equipped with power, lamps, adjustable chairs, and scrap/trash bins!
  • Ironing and cutting stations
  • Several design wall spaces
  • Conversational sitting areas
  • Two TVs
  • Bar counterspace for easy communal snack access
  • Mini Fridge for beverages and chilled snack items
  • 1/2 ADA Bathroom
Sleeping Arrangements

There are 2 sleeping rooms with a combined 14 single beds.

No need to bring your own bedding, our beds have a full sheet set, pillow, blanket and of course a quilt!

There are side tables with lamps at each bedside as well as outlets.

Kitchen

Our kitchen is fully furnished. This means we have supplied all kitchen essentials, including pots/pans, dishware, coffee maker, full-sized refrigerator, etc.

The dining area is also sizable enough for all members of your group to gather!

Restrooms

There are 2.5 bathrooms in our retreat. This should provide for plenty of privacy and minimal wait times. 1.5 bathrooms are handicap accessible.

Rates Based on 14-person Stays

Group Pricing is $475 per night

Stays are 3-nights minimum

14 guests maximum.

Special Offer:

$295 per night, no minimum stay

 From now until November 1st rate special of $295 (Normal rate $475) per night for any stay reserved regardless of reservation date

To Enhance Your Stay

  • Please respect quiet hours 10pm-8am
  • No parties
  • No candles or open flames
  • No sprays/heavily scented products
  • No smoking
  • No Pets
  • No glitter
  • No unregistered guests
  • No eating or drinking in bedrooms (water okay)
  • Ensure the door is locked if leaving the retreat.
  • No water in the irons

Is this space only available to Quilters and Crafters?

No, of course not! While this space is set up to best accommodate lovers of quilting and crafting, it can also be reserved for family events, friendly get togethers, or just because. The rates, rules and amenities remain as advertised.
